Yes, you can be ethical and promiscuous. It just matters on your own personal set of ethics and/or those of society, depending on whose standards your were thinking of in your original question.

If it's a matter of personal ethics, you can be a perfectly stand up guy and get around. But if you live your life in a manner that you would consider just, then there is no ethics violation.

If it's a matter of societal ethics, you can as well. Perhaps a person sleeps with a lot of women (or men, if the hypothetical person is a woman or gay) but will always treat everyone with charm and dignity, will never steal, never lie, will never break the speed limit. In other words, does everything right in life by society's standards, even if that person sleeps with half of said society, he can still be considered ethical.

You raise a complex scenario. It's not so much the "sleeping with" aspect I am focusing on.

Rather, does the "ethical stud" treat all equally".

If one never favors those who they have slept with in any way over those they have not or have no intention of sleeping with, that is the real test.

the bottom line is...is contradictory.
this whole freakin conversation is bullshit. first of all, THINK PEOPLE.
define 'promiscuity'.
if you can't find it...ask.
then, after you have defined it...explain to me how you can be promiscuous AND ethical.
